Epiretinal membrane
Epiretinal membranes are growths of cells on top of the retina which result in a very thin layer of scar tissue and cause retinal wrinkling. As a result, a patient can experience distorted vision and if this is significant, it affects quality of life. In a such a case, George Morphis vitreoretinal surgeon will remove this redundant layer to decrease or eliminate visual distortion. At the end of surgery an air bubble fills the inside of the eye.
This bubble dissolves within few days and vision gradually returns over 7-10 days following surgery.
